1. Try it out first. From "Start Game," log in with ID guest / password guest to look around without registering.
2. Create a character once you like it. Just pick a name and password from "Create Character" on the right side of the game screen.
3. Choose a unit and sortie. After that, just pick an opponent and fight. If you're not sure what to do, check "First Steps in MST".

On devices with small screens or older browsers, the regular layout can spill sideways off the screen and become hard to use. For those cases, we offer a frame-free, single-page lightweight version.

How to use it
On the screen after "Start Game," enter your ID and password in the "Lightweight version for small screens (3DS, etc.)" section near the top, then press Log in (lightweight version).

Things to keep in mind

• You cannot create a new character in the lightweight version - please create one in the regular version first.
• The lightweight version covers sortie, hangar, equipment changes, maintenance, Anaheim, the lab, the junk shop, the shop, profile, and info. Other screens still use the regular layout, so they may appear stretched wide on small screens.
• Battles are limited to practice battles, Hunter Chance, and Scramble.
• Once you enter the lightweight version, that browser will stay in lightweight mode for a while (remembered via cookie). To go back to the regular version, press "Switch to regular version" at the very bottom of the lightweight version screen.
• Clearing your cookies also clears this setting, returning you to the regular version.
• Images and decoration are reduced to keep the page light. The look is different from the regular version, but the underlying data is exactly the same.
